Liberty Terminals and WSI of the Southeast have
merged.
The new trade name will be Liberty Terminals.
WSI
WSI of the South East was established in Georgetown South Carolina in 1985
as a stevedoring, warehousing and trucking operation. WSI has since grown
and expanded its operations to Charleston, Port Manatee, Tampa, and has
several crews of ship's crane operators serving bulk vessels all
throughout the east and gulf coasts, as well as the Caribbean.
WSI is known as one of the main break bulk operators in the Southeastern
United States. WSI is able to handle all kinds of break bulk cargo from
heavy lift cargoes, project cargoes, reefer cargoes, forest products, steel
cargoes (Plates, beams, coils, and structures), yachts, paper, boxes,
pallets etc. - You name it - WSI lifted it -.
The laborer and supervision have a long established relationship with the
company. They are all skilled, experienced, flexible and committed to the
safe and efficient handling of customer's cargo.
Liberty Terminals
Liberty Terminals LLC was established 3 years ago in connection with the
takeover of the former East Coast Terminal in Savannah.
Liberty Terminals Savannah has been totally rebuilt and is now the newest
and most modern multipurpose terminal in the Southeastern United States.
There are now 1300 feet of new berth with 90 feet of apron. The berth has
been dredged to 38 feet at mean low water. Roll on Roll off facilities for
both stern and quarter ramp vessels are available. Both dockside warehouses
are being totally refurbished. The refurbishment of Warehouse 6 has
included a new 18 feet wide loading dock, as well as total covered rail
service into the warehouse to ensure all weather receiving and delivery of
cargo.
Working with Liberty Terminals Savannah is a true One to One relationship
(No Port Authority involved) and co-ordination is through one contact
person.
The Terminal has obtained C-TPAT certification from US Customs and Border
Protection. Liberty Terminals Savannah has a team of experienced, skilled
and well educated supervisors and longshoremen who are able to handle all
kinds of break bulk and project cargoes to the customers' satisfaction.
The Merger
The concept behind the merger of Liberty Terminals LLC and WSI of the
Southeast LLC is to achieve the full synergies and utilization of the
equipment, expertise, and resources from both groups. This will optimize
our performance which is to the mutual benefit of the organization and our
customers.
The new Liberty Terminals will be a true specialist in break bulk
operations, project cargoes, heavy-lifts, Roll on Roll off and Container
Freight Station Services.
There will be no immediate changes in daily business, contact persons,
working areas, etc.
