Recycled materials / Scrap handling on the Savannah Terminal

Scrap handling on the Savannah Terminal

As part of Liberty Terminals efforts to provide its customers with a full range of stevedoring and cargo handling services, Liberty has developed a recyclable scrap metal loading process that does not require the traditional stock piling of the material on the dock itself.

This process allows for continuous receiving of recycled metals as well as segregation of material for multiple vessel orders  and multiple supplier  deliveries.

Liberty is able to receive recycled materials via either truck or rail.  Scaling of the material is possible via use of Liberty's truck scale.

Liberty is able to accommodate most grades of recycled metal, from Shred and HMS 1&2 to P&S.   As the pictures in the Savannah Terminal Gallery shows, the pans and rigging gear allows for the loading of up to 20 MT of recycled metal per lift.  This of course is subject to the size of the vessels gear as well as the grade of the material.
