Liberty Terminals was established by a consortium of
experienced Stevedores and Multi- Purpose Vessels operators in order to
secure a future platform for operating a flexible and reliable loading,
discharging and safe handling, warehousing and storage of all kind of
break-bulk-, roll on/off-, container- and heavy lift cargo. As the
dedicated Container Carriers show their increasing demands for additional
areas/land requirements to accommodate the future growth within the Port
areas for pure container operation, the Multi Purpose- Roll on/off- and
Heavy Lift Vessels have been steadily squeezed away from their present
berth location from where they have performed their operation for decades
without any planned substitution Terminals for their special needs /
requirements.
This is where the dedicated Break-Bulk, Roll on/off and Heavy Lift Operator
Liberty Terminals comes in as a facility independent of Public Port
Policies, union, politic restrains and with a substantial higher and more
flexible service level in general to the benefit of our customers.
Liberty Terminals are pleased to announce their takeover of the former East
Coast Terminal in Savannah as from January 1st 2006 being the first
"Liberty Terminal" in USA.
The new name of the Terminal is "Liberty Terminals
Savannah"
The Owners of Liberty Terminals plan to invest the necessary funds and
resources required to achieve general refurbishment and upgrade of the
entire Terminal in order to transform the Terminal into a state of the art
and sophisticated Marine Terminal equipped with all modern facilities and
equipment with focus on Multipurpose Carriers, Break-Bulk Roll on/off and
Containerized Cargo.
In October 2008 Liberty Terminals merged with WSI of the Southeast who was
a recognized and well established stevedoring, warehousing and trucking
company working out of Georgetown SC since 1985. WSI has since grown
and expanded its operations to Charleston, Port Manatee, Tampa, and has
several crews of ship’s crane operators serving bulk vessels all throughout
the east and gulf coasts, as well as the Caribbean.
The new name for the group of companies is Liberty Terminals LLC
The new Liberty Terminals will be a true specialist in break bulk
operations, project cargoes, heavy-lifts, Roll on Roll off and Container
Freight Station Services.
